Tight Skirts!

All the sudden my new favorite style is, tight skirts. I know this might come as a surprise to some people but I really do love these type of skirts.
I think they are super cute for the Summer. Wear a loose top (like the middle and last photo) and a solid color skirt and flip flops....or, because I don't wear flip flops, cute sandals.  The fun thing about these skrits are you can dress them up and dress them down. The middle photo is really dressing this skirt down. She put a couple braclets, a ring, layered some necklaces, and a solid color t-shirt on.  That is a great way to wear this skirt to see friends or see a movie.
I would say the last photo shows a great example on how to wear these type of skirts on a night out! Wear a graphic tee (preferably a really "loose" t-shirt) any type of tight skirt. Either solid, or a print (i.e cheetah, polka dots, zebra) And then put a simple high heel with it.  And then you are ready to go!

Summer Here I Come!

So everyone knows that Spring is here and Summer is just around the corner! That means we can throw away (not literally) our winter clothes and bring out our Spring/Summer clothes!!! I am always so excited for the first day of Spring because that means that we can change out our winter clothes. I was getting so sick of wearing the same things everyday....LONG SLEEVES! It was starting to bug me. I am very delighted that spring is here!

I love summer because I have such a variety of style of clothing that I can wear, in Winter I think you are stuck with one style...long sleeves. Long Sleeve can get very tiresome. In summer you can wear shorts, maxi skirts, maxi dresses, mini dresses, mini skirts, and so much more. Again you have more of of variety. And where I came from all I used to wear was a bathing suit, tank top, and shorts!

This summer I am gonna try to wear more maxi dresses! What style of clothing do you want to wear this summer?

Low Cut Dresses.

I used to think dresses like these were..."inappropriate"  And to some people it could be. But to me it is a beautiful cut.  This cut, where it is higher in the front (not showing but pretty sure it is)  and lower in the back are classic, sexy, and simple.

Do you like these kind of dresses? If not why? I would love to hear your opinions on this dress!

This was my outfit Sunday. It was perfect weather to wear this outfit.  I loved wearing this style, sweater over button down, it was so comfortable!
So what I did is took my black sweater (resale) and put it over my Gap button down (Gap) and i decided to put it with my bright colored teal skinny pants. (Target) Then for the shoes I was going to wear my black ballet flats then I realized I want to wear my VINTAGE (re-sale) high heals, that are, might I add, the most comfortable high heels ever! So this outfit had a little vintage feel and a little pop! I think it was a great outfit for church.

Also do you remember when i wrote the post on the color teal? Well ever since that post I was determined to find some kind of clothing that is teal. And last month I went to target and they were having a sale and their colored pants were $20! That might seem expensive to some people but to me that was cheap for colored skinny jeans!!!

I hope you like my OOTDP

conquer your maxi-wearing fear

We all know the feeling - you don't want to look like you're a character from Little House on the Prairie.  You want to wear a maxi skirt/dress, but you're afraid you'll look like you have never been out.  I get it ;) I was so scared to jump into a maxi skirt/dress, but once I did, I never turned back.

This season we are seeing more of a higher hemline.  Right about just above the ankle.  Now, I personally cannot pull this off because I'm barely 5'1" and I'd look like I'm swimming in it ;) But!  If you are taller (like Jemima!) you should totally try this.  Here is an example:

(so in love with is dress!)

There you have it :) Hope you can conquer your maxi-phobia ;)

how to 'pull off' boyfriend jeans

Hey, everyone!  I'm alive.  Sorry, I took a break from blogging :)  I'm back now though!  And ready to rejoin the fashion blogging world :)

Anyways, I'm going to talk about boyfriend jeans!  There are many ways to wear them. I'll try to break them down for you.

The key to pulling off boyfriend jeans is that you have to get the proportions and the top right.  Since the jeans are more slouchy, it's okay to wear a more slouchy shirt with it.  In this photo, she has a great example of denim on denim, and also how to make it super casual.

This isn't really boyfriend jeans... but I think the top is a great idea to pair with boyfriend jeans.  She paired a button down with an oversized sweater.  Perfect.

Again - the proportions are perfect.  The top is also not too tight - which is key.

In this outfit, I think this woman perfectly showed how to make boyfriend jeans more formal.  She added heals and some great bracelets with an oversized bag to make it less casual.

I lovelove this look.  The floral scarf with the sweater and light-washed jeans is so lovely!

One more thing to remember - make sure you get the proportions right.  In each of these outfits, none of the tops were too long.  If they went too long, you'd end up looking really short (which is not good for us super short girls ;)) and probably would throw off your whole outfit.

Hope you enjoyed this post :) I'm glad to be back!
